Deadly Explosion In NW Iowa

An explosion last night killed a man in northwest Iowa.

It happened outside of 915 Hayes Street in Hull, Iowa.

21-year-old Ryan Meerdink of Hull was taken to the Sioux Center Hospital where he died.

Investigators say a potato lauching device was filled with an explosive powder and blew up when it was ingnited.

They say the explosion was an accident.
