Man Caught Outside Masturbating, Videotaping Himself

INDEPENDENCE, MO -- Independence Police made an arrest in a very strange incident. Officers said a man was lying naked in the grass and fondling himself.
Christopher Scott, 48, is charged with one count of first degree sexual misconduct. Police were tipped off after two witnesses complained. Scott told police this isn't the first time something like this happened.
According to the police report, around 1:30 on Thursday morning an Independence police officer checked out a complaint and found Scott fondling himself on the grass near 37th and Crysler.
When he noticed the officer, Scott grabbed some items and took off running. He quickly threw the items down, but the officer found them. They included a police scanner and a video camera. Tape found in the camera had video of a man laying naked and fondling himself.

Soctt told police he had been drinking that night and said that's kind of what happens when he drinks. Scott also admitted he had been caught in 1994 and 1999 doing this same thing and he said his wife told him, "if I ever get caught doing this thing again...." but this is where his statement abruptly ends.
Scott did get out of jail early Friday morning. One of Scott's next door neighbors in Overland Park said he was a fantastic neighbor and a great guy. The neighbor said he was shocked to learn about these charges.
