CIA Computers Traced to Altered Wikipedia Entries
Someone on the CIA network has been caught vandalizing Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's Wikipedia page. Wikiscan, the new technology that can tell who is changing Wikipedia pages, has found CIA computers made changes on several pages including that of former CIA director Porter Goss. As usual, the CIA denies any knowledge, and refuses to confirm that the edits came from their computers.
"The Wikipedia affair is another example of poor tradecraft," says Rowan Scarborough, author of Sabotage: America's Enemies Within the CIA. " We know that during the snatching of Islamic figures in Europe that CIA officers left a trail of evidence that led right back to Langley. Now we find out the agency cannot edit entries on Wikipedia without leaving a trail back to Langley. It raises the question of why anyone would enlist as a spy for the CIA. How can any spy expect the agency to keep his/her identity secret?"
One woed. DIRTY.
