Banana truck rolls over on Thruway
ALBANY - A tractor trailer carrying a load of bananas rolled over onto its side while making a turn on the Thruway's Interchange 24 (Albany) exit ramp.
The driver complained of back pain but declined medical treatment, according to State Police.
A potentially slippery situation was averted because the bananas did not spill out of the trailer. The rollover was confined to the road shoulder. There was a brief lane closure after the 11 a.m. accident, but delays were minor.
Maintenance crews had to unload the entire shipment of bananas to prevent further damage to the trailer before it was righted, State Police said.
State agriculture officials will inspect the bananas Tuesday to determine if they can be salvaged or need to be dumped, State Police said.
heheheheheheheheheee talk about slipping on the banana peel! I know it CLAIMS that the bananas didn't spill out, but in my head it's just so much funnier to imagine a highway covered in bananas that are getting splooged out of their peels and on to unsuspecting undercarriages.
Beer spill. [hella classy]
This man is the ultimate. How do I make him my boyfriend? ...must....woo.....scary banana man....
